1. Scope

1.1

This Standard specifies the requirements and establishes the rules for design, fabrication, and installation of pressure- retaining containment system components. In this Standard the term ""components"" includes nonregistered items.

1.2

This Standard does not cover the requirements for systems.

The requirements for containment systems are covered by CSA Standard CAN3-N290.3.

1.3

This Standard does not apply to containment system components classified as Class Containment that comply with the requirements of the CSA N287 Series of Standards.
